About Shiraz Petrochemical Company (شرکت پتروشیمی شیراز)

Shiraz Petrochemical Company, as the first petrochemical production unit in Iran, started its operations in 1963 to produce nitrogen chemical fertilizers. The company is located 45 kilometers from Shiraz, near the Kor River and close to Marvdasht, on a 300-hectare site of which 72 hectares is the industrial area. The company's altitude is about 1600 meters above sea level. Operations began with four production units: ammonia, urea, nitric acid, and ammonium nitrate, along with a utility unit providing water, electricity, steam, and compressed air. Subsequently, several development projects were implemented to meet the country's needs.
