Neopan Karoon Shushtar Company was established in 1981 by the Bank of Industry and Mine and Karoon Agro-Industry to produce particleboard from sugarcane bagasse. After purchasing and installing the relevant machinery, it was put into operation in 1985 with a nominal capacity of 100 cubic meters per day. In 2002, it was purchased by Shomal Wood Industry Company, and after a period of activity, all its shares were transferred to the Mostazafan Foundation of the Islamic Revolution. Due to the outdated existing line and the availability of cheap raw materials, in 2003 a new line (Line 2) with a nominal capacity of 300 cubic meters per day was purchased. After a fire in June 2014, Line 1 was decommissioned, and the company focused on completing and launching the new line, with trial production beginning in late 2015.
