About Iran Blood Transfusion and Research Company (شرکت مادر تخصصی پالایش و پژوهش خون)

Iran Blood Transfusion and Research Company was established on July 31, 1994 by the then President Hashemi Rafsanjani as the Blood Research and Processing Center. In 1998, its name was changed to Blood Processing and Distribution Company following the approval of its articles of association by the Cabinet. In 2007, with the approval of a new articles of association by the Cabinet, it changed its activity to the Specialized Parent Company for Blood Processing and Research. The company's shares were transferred to the private sector in 2014. Then in 2023, by judicial order and court ruling, the company's shares were returned to the government and transferred to the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education. In January 2024, the first general assembly meeting was held with the presence of the Minister of Health, the Minister of Economy, the Minister of Science, the Minister of Industry, the Vice President and the head of the Planning and Budget Organization, and the board members and CEO were elected. Currently, it is one of the main producers of blood group diagnostic kits and special plasma-derived drugs, and it produces and distributes these products in the country in cooperation with foreign companies.
